The CCCPES project

The Centre Cultural Caixa Penedès Espai Subirachs (CCCPES) shall carry out its activities in three main areas, making it a space of reference open to culture from all over the world.

THE SPACES

The permanent venue for the work of Josep Maria Subirachs

The main CCCPES space will permanently hold the work of Josep Maria Subirachs. It will exhibit representative works from each of his creative periods, including sculptures, paintings, drawings and graphic works.

The Subirachs Commission is responsible for managing this artistic heritage, with the utmost support of Fundació Caixa Penedès.

The auditorium

The centre’s auditorium, which can seat 200, will be the venue for concerts, seminars, audiovisual screenings and a range of activities –such as themed conferences or roundtables– that shall complement the cultural and artistic exhibitions. Thus, the auditorium will be an excellent tool for advertising and analysing the exhibitions to be held in the different areas of the CCCPES.

A space of cultural dissemination

The CCCPES shall be open to the cultural entities and educational centres of Barcelona and all of Catalonia. Therefore, in addition to the auditorium, the centre will be equipped with rooms for meetings, workshops and cultural events of all kinds.

OUR VOCATION

A modern, open centre

Due to all of the above, the CCCPES is set to be a point of reference on the cultural circuit. Moreover, there will be regular movement of collections, presentations and exhibitions, made possible thanks to agreements with cultural centres and museums in the main European countries, particularly France, Italy and Germany.

In this way, the centre’s open spaces will be continually invigorated, projecting the work of Josep Maria Subirachs throughout the world and also hosting the works of other artists.

The building will be equipped with the latest technical specifications, designed in accordance with the recommendations of the Standard Facility Report and adopted by the Registrars Committee of the American Association of Museums in 1998.
