A retrospective exhibition of Thomas Schütte's work, in Madrid

Retrospection will be held at the Reina Sofía.

26/01/2010
The Museo Centro de Arte Reina Sofía is to host the most important retrospective exhibition ever organised in Spain of work by the German artist Thomas Schütte.

The exhibition brings together nearly seventy-five works. They will be shown on the first floor of the Sabatini building and in other parts of the museum, including the garden and the cloister.

Lynne Cooke, curator of Retrospection and assistant director of the museum, has created a route that presents examples of Schütte's development as an artist and of the different techniques that he has used during his career. The exhibition includes water colours, etchings, photographs, installations and architectural models, as well as some of his most representative groups of sculptures (Women and Dogs).

The exhibition will open on 16 February and run until 17 May.
